Restaurants on Petchkasem road in Hua Hin

Petchakasem Road Restaurants

The busy main road running through Hua Hin, Petchakasem Road might not seem the ideal place in which to locate a restaurant, but there are several notable establishments close to the town centre that are worth a look. There can be excessive noise from passing vehicles as the road gets busy at certain times of the day, so dining inside could be wise. As well as the venues below, there are many more local Thai restaurants scattered around that stay open quite late.

Tucked away on the main road near the Shell gas station (Soi 62), is this Thai style restaurant that does great value all-you-can-eat steak buffets at only 159 baht (or 109 baht for kids). The only catch is the 2 hour time limit. There’s a great choice of salads, sushi, soups and steak (beef, pork, and chicken), and the back yard setting is pleasant and relaxed. It can be quite busy with Thais and not many foreigners seem to know about the place, but with such good prices can you afford not to give it a try? recommended as an alternative and enjoyable place to eat, especially if you’re hungry! The buffet starts at 4pm.

Address: Hua Hin Soi 62, Petchakasem Road. Next to Shell, and opposite PTT
Open: lunch 11.00-16.00, buffet 16.00-23.00

Jiang Look Chin Plaa
The name translates as Jiang Fish Ball, which is one of the specialities to be found at this large but unassuming open-sided restaurant at the top end corner of Soi 41. This is one of those Uniquely Thai places with metal tables and simple plastic chairs which is always popular with the locals, serving up delicious and inexpensive noodle and fish ball soups, plus individual Chinese dim sum and steamed dishes. We can recommend you try any of the excellent soups such egg noodle soup with shrimp wontons and roasted duck (roughly pronounced as “ba-mee gee-oh gung bet yaang”) for just 60 baht or ba-mee moo dairng (noodles with red pork) for only 40 baht. It’s not the kind of place you’d go for a night out, but simply to grab some quick, tasty and convenient Thai food. Menus are in Thai and English. There is another branch located in Market Village shopping centre on the second floor, but look out for this one on the right side of the main road going north, opposite the two 7-11 stores either side of Soi 56.
