Royal Hua Hin Golf Course
The Royal Hua Hin golf course is an 18-hole par 72 course. It is famous for being Thailand’s oldest golf course. Steeped in history, it was developed in 1924. A quite beautiful course with lots of mature, tall trees supplying good shade from the tropical heat, the course was constructed for British railway workers and the affluent Thai communities like the aristocracy and royalty.
Located right in the centre of Hua Hin, no more than 2 minutes from the railway station, the course is a challenge and although the fairways can become a little water logged during the monsoon season and pretty hard during the drier winter months, it is very playable and has some great views. Getting there is easy and tuk-tuks will whisk you there in minutes from anywhere in Hua Hin.
The club house was refurbished back in the 1980s and is still in good condition. Although there are some holes with stunning views on this course, maybe the signature hole could be described as the 14th hole. Here, you have a stunning view of a Thai temple, which really reminds you that you are playing in Thailand. There are also plenty of watering holes on this course too so you can enjoy an ice cold drink while taking in the views over the Gulf of Thailand before your next shot.
